After 10 weeks of high school football, the “Real McCoy” begins on Friday. Four teams from Carter County along with Johnson County got the news on Saturday that their seasons would be extended.

Elizabethton’s 28-27 win over Sullivan South bumped them up into the No. 3 seed in Quadrant 1 among the 4-A schools, but it also put them in the same bracket at Greeneville.

The Cyclones will entertain Scott County (7-3) on Friday night at Brown-Childress Stadium. A win will send them to Greeneville (10-0) on Nov. 8, barring a miracle upset from Grainger County.
