JOHNSON CITY — The first 50 days of Carl Torbush’s tenure as head coach of ETSU’s revitalized football program have been nothing short of a whirlwind.
Between two assistant-coaching hires, multiple appearances in front of community and alumni groups, planning for new football facilities and laying the groundwork for his first Buccaneer recruiting class, Torbush has been hard at work.
“There’s a lot of things going on,” Torbush said Saturday. “I’m trying to do as good of a job as I can of keeping the excitement level and support to the best of my ability.”
Initially, upon his introduction to the community, Torbush wanted to build relationships with alumni, longtime ETSU donors and, more importantly, the former Buccaneer football players and fans.
