Update: Rear window of garage damaged before fire

Elizabethton Fire Marshal Jack Buckles said someone tried to forcefully enter a two-car garage prior to it catching on fire Tuesday morning.

The Elizabethton Fire Department responded at about 11 a.m. to 1201 Bluefield Ave., in Elizabethton to extinguish the fire.

No one was inside the garage while it was on fire, according to Elizabethton Police Chief Greg Workman.

Roger Miller, who lives nearby, said the garage belongs to his father-in-law and it is used for storage.
