One week after 4-year-old Joshua Holston was killed as he crossed Broad Street, investigators with the Elizabethton Police Department returned to the scene.

Maj. Greg Workman said officers returned early Thursday afternoon to recreate the scene as it was when the incident was reported at 1:19 p.m., Oct. 11, at Broad Street and Lynn Avenue.

According to Capt. Joy Markland, two juveniles, including 4-year-old Joshua, and Joshua’s mother, Tiffani Marie Holston, were crossing Broad Street in the crosswalk area.

Joshua Holston ran into the path of the dump truck and was struck as the vehicle began to turn onto Lynn Avenue from the turning lane on Broad Street. The dump truck was driven by Terry Kyte of Bristol.
