Sandy Greer is shown with several of the crafts she will offer for sale at the upcoming Christmas Arts and Crafts Festival. She is holding one of her famous pillowcase dolls, but spread across the table is a casserole carrier, a Christmas mouse, a fluffy
sheep and a felt snowman. She began crafting in the 1980s while recovering from a broken back.

The two-day festival was hosted for many years by Sycamore Shoals State Historic Park in Elizabethton. However, due to renovation taking place at the park’s visitors center, park management was forced to look for a new entity to host the yearly event.

Brenda Holdren, who is serving as chairperson for the festival, said the membership of the Woman’s Club was more than happy to step forward and host the annual crafts festival.

“We are thrilled to pick up this event,” Holdren said.

This year’s show will be held Friday and Saturday, Nov. 16-17, at the National Guard Armory, 128 Judge Don Lewis Blvd., Elizabethton. The sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.
