EHS powderpuff game raises $1,000 to benefit animal shelter

Students at Elizabethton High School took to the football field for a good cause during Homecoming festivities last week.

Girls in the junior and senior classes played powderpuff football to help raise $1,000 for the new Elizabethton Carter County Animal Shelter.

The powderpuff game is a homecoming tradition for the school. Faculty advisor Andrea Payne said the students set a goal each year of raising $1,000 for the animal shelter. Students collected donations, and proceeds of ticket sales to the game also went to shelter.
