EHS boys tennis team dismissed by Greeneville

Coming in, Elizabethton’s boys knew they were the underdog.
Despite one of their best efforts of the season, it wasn’t a match for the best from District 2.
Greeneville, which swept the Cyclones in singles play in the regular season, followed the lead of state tournament qualifier Jaspal Mahal in a 4-1 victory for the Region 1-A/AA boys title at Elizabethton High School Tuesday.
“We came out and played hard,” said Elizabethton coach Kenny Hardin. “Greeneville’s just good. Sometimes you have to tip your hat and we wish them the best of luck down the road. Like anything else we wish we could have been there, but it wasn’t meant to be today.”
