The past few weeks have seen several new businesses join Elizabethton’s ranks, including two new eateries and a new clothing store, which opens today.

Factory Connection will open its doors in the Elk Crossing Shopping Center on West Elk Avenue.

The Elizabethton store isn’t just new to Elizabethton – it’s the first Factory Connection to be located in the Tri-Cities.

Factory Connection District Manager Diana Simons said the closest locations are in Greeneville and Newport.

Simons said the store sells name-brand clothing for men and women, adding, “Anything you can find in the malls, you will find here but at a lower price.”

The store has a total of five employees.

Elizabethton’s two new eateries include one home-grown and one well-known national name.

The White Elephant Fresh Market opened in downtown Elizabethton at 602 E. Elk Ave. two weeks ago today.

Co-owner Mike Henley said the food is made fresh each day before the restaurant opens.
