BLUFF CITY— Happy Valley was two outs away from a two-run win on Friday at Sullivan East, but victory fell off the claw just before they could reel it in. In “Handy Manny the crane game fashion,” the Warriors dropped their prize to the Patriots 8-7 at Dave Rutherford Field.
Spencer Nave’s two-run homer in the seventh inning erased a 6-4 deficit. A walk and two errors would seal it for them in the eighth frame.
Head coach Caleb Moore could only shake his head after watching his team come completely unglued over the final three frames.
