East ends futility against Unaka

For the first time in two years, Sullivan East celebrated a victory on Friday night.

Unaka’s football team, meanwhile, walked off Goddard Field after absorbing another beating.

East prevailed 31-0 in non-conference action.

“Offensively, we were just kind of sluggish and going on,” Unaka coach Steve McKinney said. “Coach Locke, tip our hats to them — they do a good job. They ran straight at us, had a few wrinkles in for us and they were prepared for us. It’s kind of go back to the old drawing board and see what we can do.”
