It may still be summer on the calendar, but it’s time for the Downtown Business Association to start planning for the upcoming holiday events that will be held in downtown Elizabethton.
DBA members discussed the fall and Halloween events along with the Christmas happenings that will all take place in the historic shopping district.
The annual downtown Trick-or-Treating will be held on Halloween from 3 to 4:30 p.m. The time for the trick-or-treating event was shortened by 30 minutes as a way to help lower costs for some of the smaller businesses. Halloween falls on Thursday, Oct. 31, this year.
John Bunn, owner of The Coffee Company, made the request that the time be shortened for the Halloween activity. He reasoned that a shorter time on the trick-or-treating would equal a smaller amount of candy needed.
