Cyclones roll past Warriors for regional berth

Rain would not play to the role of spoiler of the third day of District 1-AA baseball action Sunday afternoon at Milligan College.
Elizabethton punched its ticket to the District 1-AA championship with a 12-2 win over Happy Valley. In the second game of the tourney doubleheader, Sullivan East ended Johnson County’s season with a 10-0 rout.
The Cyclones (24-10) rode the hot bat of Eric Carter and a staunch performance on the mound from Austin Smith to earn their right to clinch a regional berth.
A big win was a great way to calm the nerves of EHS, according to skipper Joe Nix.
