KINGSPORT — It’s doubtful many teams playing in that fast food tournament on the other side of Sullivan County could have stood toe-to-toe with the Orange & Black on Saturday.
Elizabethton found its groove in all facets of the hardwood game and rolled over David Crockett 83-45 to take the consolation title in the New People’s Bank Holiday Classic at Sullivan North.
“It’s the best team effort we’ve had all year,” said Elizabethton coach Lucas Honeycutt. “Everybody went in and played as hard as they could for as long as they could. We subbed and everything flowed well. It was a good all-around effort and probably the best we’ve played.”
