Cyclones let it slip away at East3:24 am | January 29, 2013
BLUFF CITY — For three quarters on Saturday evening against Sullivan East, Elizabethton steadily built a lead — and by the fourth quarter it was up to 17 points. Then, like the girl in a magician’s box, it vanished.
Sullivan East (22-6 overall, 7-0 Three Rivers Conference) outscored the Cyclones 26-7 in the final period, including a 20-2 run, as the Patriots rallied past EHS 54-52 at Patriot Palace and secured the number one seed in the Three Rivers Conference.
On the girls’ side, the Lady Cyclones (17-4, 6-1 TRC) took care of business with a dominating performance in toppling the Lady Patriots 75-61 behind 19 points from freshman forward Kelci Marosites.

A squad that has lost three former senior starters to injury has plugged freshmen into the void with spectacular results.
Twin forwards Kelci and Kayla Marosites along with guard Melenda Perry have helped the Lady Cyclones overcome the loss of Morgan Depew, Lauren McCurry and Caley Hodge with sensational shooting and ball handling.
