Cyclones breeze past HV

Elizabethton’s basketball team hit the District 1-AA semifinals looking sharper than ever.
The Cyclones disposed of Happy Valley 68-42 on Saturday night at Treadway Gymnasium.
“You can’t ask for much better out of these guys,” Elizabethton coach Lucas Honeycutt said. “They’ve come on here towards the end of the season. We’ve been playing really well.”
The Cyclones (21-6) move onto Tuesday night’s championship against top seed Sullivan East (24-6). The Warriors (5-23) have also qualified for next week’s Region 1-AA tournament and face Sullivan North (15-13) for third place.
