Cyclones aiming for repeat against East

For the fourth time, Elizabethton’s boys and Sullivan East are set to tango.

Undoubtedly, tonight’s Region 1-AA boys title game at Treadway Gymnasium with a home sectional game at stake, brings a new cloud of importance to the picture.

For the Cyclones (25-6), getting into the sub-state picture was a goal set back in the summer.

A strong close to the regular season and a near-flawless postseason run to this point has their eyes set on adding another game to their home floor.

“This is next,” said Elizabethton coach Lucas Honeycutt. Our team goal for the year was sub-state. We’ve got that now. We want a home sub-state game and the only way to do that is to win (tonight) and we know that.”
