Council members sworn in

Curt Alexander, Bob Cable and Jeff Treadway were sworn in to Elizabethton’s City Council during a ceremony Tuesday afternoon.

 

Alexander will be serving his third term as a council member, while Cable and Treadway are both newcomers to the governing body.

Alexander said he looked forward to the council continuing with projects to improve the city’s infrastructure that have been started in the past year. These included the effort to rebuild the Elizabethton Electric Department’s substations, the completion of the Watauga River Regional Water Authority’s surface water treatment plant on Wilbur Lake and the upgrading of the city’s water and sewer lines and infrastructure systems.
