The Elizabethton Municipal Golf Course could receive financial aid from the city after council members heard an update on the course’s financial standing during a workshop Tuesday afternoon.

Pat Hardy, an adviser with the Municipal Technical Advisory Service, provided council members a report on the financial situation at the golf course along with his recommendations.

City Manager Fred Edens told council it was important that board members hear the report because “serious financial issues” at the golf course would have an impact on the city’s budget discussions in the next year.
