Commission votes in favor of 18-cent tax hike

After several hours of discussion and debate, the Carter County Commission has voted to set the property tax rate at 2.33, which amounts to an 18-cent increase.

Commissioners made 13 separate motion before settling on this decision, which adds 15 cents to the General Fund and 3 cents to the Debt Service Fund.
