Cloudland High students target blood drive record

Cloudland High School students are trying to beat their own record for blood donations this year.

Aleta Morgan, Cloudland HOSA instructor and blood drive coordinator, said the school has again partnered with the Marsh Regional Blood Center for its blood drive on Monday.

“Last year we won the top mobile blood drive for small high schools in Tennessee,” Morgan said. “We really like working with them because they are very supportive of the community.”

Cloudland High School was able to secure the top spot for donations last year despite unfavorable circumstances.
“Last year’s goal was 100 donors, but the drive was cut short with the onset of wild weather,” Marsh Donor Recruiter Adam Ellsworth said. “Even with the wild weather, they were able to get 79 units.”
