Hampton First Baptist
The Rev. Jim Lindsay will be guest speaker Sunday at Hampton First Baptist Church at the 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. worship service.
He will bring messages on the cross, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The Rev. Lindsay is well known in the East Tennessee area and is a former pastor. He has also done extensive evangelistic work.
The Rev. Mike Hampton, pastor of Hampton First Baptist, invites the public to attend.
The worship choir of Grace Baptist Church will present the musical “Where Love And Mercy Meet” by Marty Parks at morning worship Palm Sunday at the church.
The service will begin at 10:30 a.m.
The choir is directed by Debbie Gouge
Also, revival will be held at the church April 7-10 with the Rev. D.L. Lowry as evangelist.

First United Methodist
First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton will celebrate Palm Sunday March 24. The topic of the message for the morning worship service will be “A Head-on Collision in Jerusalem” based on the scripture from Luke 19: 28-40.
The service will begin at 10 a.m. followed by Sunday school at 11:20 a.m.
The Men’s Prayer Group will meet at 9 a.m. Sunday in Room 108.
The Sunday evening Bible Study will meet at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
UMY will meet Sunday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the youth house. The Abiding Love Bible Study group will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday. The G2s will meet Tuesday from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. in the youth house. The Coolagers will meet Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m.
The Lenten study “Defeating Your Giants” will continue at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
A Maundy Thursday service with communion will be held at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

Full Gospel Tabernacle
Phil Reed will preach at the Full Gospel Tabernacle Sunday, March 24, at 6 p.m.
The church is located at 1684 Weaver Branch Road, Piney Flats.
Regular services are held Thursdays and Sundays at 6 p.m. through March, but will change to 7 p.m. in April.
The pastor is Everett Garland.
Palm Sunday will be celebrated March 24 at First Christian Church of Elizabethton. Minister Brent Nidiffer will present the final message in the series “Between Heaven and Earth” on the “Seven Sayings from the Cross.” This Sunday’s topic will be “Father, Into Thy Hands I Commend My Spirit.”
Morning worship will begin at 9:45 a.m. followed by Sunday school.
Evening worship will be held at 6 p.m. along with classes for the youth and children.
This Sunday is also Pantry Sunday, and those attending are encouraged to bring items for the church pantry. Collections this month include powdered milk, crackers and canned milk.
The Ladies Bible Study will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the Fidelis Classroom.
At noon, everyone is invited to attend the Holy Week service at Immanuel Baptist Church. This is a 30-minute service followed by lunch.
Prayer will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the sanctuary, followed by Holy Week services at noon at West Side Christian Church.
Wednesday, the Holy Week service will be held at noon at Oak Street Baptist Church.
At 7 p.m. Bible study will be held in the various classrooms at First Christian.
Thursday, a Maundy Thursday service will be held at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist.
Friday, the offices of First Christian will be closed. A Tenebrae service will be held at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church.

Pies for Peace Fundraiser for the Kenya Project will be held at 12:15 p.m. This event will raise funds to purchase materials and installation of a grist mill in the Boroko Village of Kenya. Savory and sweet pies will be available for purchase by the slice and the pie, eat-in and take-out. Those wishing to purchase pies for take-out are encouraged to bring containers to carry their pies out. Boxes will be available, but in keeping with the church’s Green Covenant commitment, congregation members strive to reduce, reuse and recycle, and encourage others to do the same.
At 2 p.m. the Religion for Life program on WETS-FM hosted by Pastor John Shuck will feature author Barbara Kingsolver.

“Obedient to the Cross” will be the theme of the sermon for morning worship, Sunday, March 24, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 201 E. Watauga Ave., Johnson City. The sermon text is Phil: 2: 5-11.
