Lynn Valley Baptist Church will celebrate its 70th anniversary Sunday, Sept. 8. Worship and celebration will begin at 10:15 a.m.
A meal will be provided after the service in the Life Center, which was a NAPA pre-fab building donated by Victor and Rebecca Oliver.
The Rev. Dr. Joseph Greene from Roanoke, Va., will be the guest speaker. The service will also feature a slide presentation of the church’s growth and faith from the beginning to the present.
Pastor Dennis Wilson invites the community, friends and former members to attend.
Also, Lynn Valley Baptist will have its monthly clothes closet Saturday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. till noon.
Clothing will be available to all ages for men, women and children.
The clothes closet is held in the church annex.
The Rev. Joseph and Yvonne Hollifield will be the honorees during a celebration of the Rev. Hollifield’s ninth anniversary as pastor of Phillippi Baptist Church on Sunday, Sept. 8.
The theme is “Pressing On.”
Sunday school will begin at 10 a.m. Morning worship is at 11 a.m. The afternoon service will be at 3 p.m.
Guest speaker for the afternoon service will be Pastor Kirby Hill along with his congregation and choir from Jubilee World Outreach in Johnson City.

God’s House Full Gospel
A benefit singing will be held Saturday, Sept. 7, at 7 p.m. at God’s House Full Gospel Church.
Funds received will go to help with funeral expenses for a church member who passed away.
Featured singers will include Jeff Milsap and New Creation. God’s Full House Gospel Praise Team will also be singing.

On Saturday morning, Sept. 7, at 8 a.m., the Men’s Breakfast at First Christian Church of Elizabethton will be held in the Fellowship Hall. A donation of $4 each is requested.
Sunday morning, Sept. 8, is Grandparents Day! You are encouraged to be in church with your grandparents. Bring them to visit as Minister Brent Nidiffer brings the 9:45 a.m. message at morning worship. The children will present special music.

First United Methodist Church
First United Methodist Church will feature the sermon “Down at the Potter’s House” based on Jeremiah 18:11 during Sunday’s 10 a.m. worship service.
There will be no Sunday School, Evening Bible Study or UMY this week.
The G2’s (5th-8th) meet on Tuesdays from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. in the youth house. The Coolagers (K-4th) meet on Wednesdays from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m.

A gospel singing and bean supper will be held at Harvest Time Christian Church on Saturday, Sept. 21, from 3 to 7 p.m.
Groups scheduled to perform include The Garlands; Blue Edition; Harvest Time Kids, Elwood and Amber Dunnavant; No Name But His; and the Bethel Choir and Youth.
