CHS teacher receives Helping Teachers Teach grant

President/CEO Kathy Campbell of Northeast Community Credit Union recently presented the Helping Teachers Teach grant check to Andrew Metros, a chemistry teacher at Cloudland High School in Roan Mountain.

Metros will use the grant money to purchase much needed laboratory supplies to be used for performing chemistry experiments with his students. Since the state educational standards require teachers to provide hands-on learning activities, these supplies are a must. The chemistry room has very little to no supplies to perform the required hands-on activities.
