First Church
of the Nazarene
The children of the First Church of the Nazarene of Elizabethton will present a Christmas play Sunday at the 10:45 a.m. service.

Valley Forge U-M
The Christmas cantata “Bethlehem Morning” will be presented Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service.
A candlelight service will be presented at the 6 p.m. service.

The youth of Calvary Baptist Church will present the musical “Celebrate the Day” at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
A Christmas Eve service will be held at 9 p.m. Dec. 24.

Poplar Grove
The children, youth and young adults of Poplar Grove Baptist Church will present a special program, “The First Day of Christmas,” Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship hour.

Roan Street FWB
The Adult Choir of Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church will present the cantata “Once Upon A Miracle” Sunday at 7 p.m.
The children will present the program “Just A Little Christmas” at the 11 a.m. service Sunday.

First Free Will
The Adult Choir will present the cantata “A Candlelight Christmas” Sunday at 11 a.m. Also, the Handbell Choir will perform.
The choir is directed by Grady Holder and the handbell choir by Alecia Holder.
The midweek service will be held Thursday, Dec. 26, at 6:30 p.m.
The pastor, the Rev. Nathan Jennings, invites the public to attend.

 
Valley Forge Christian
A candlelight service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 6 p.m. at Valley Forge Christian Church when the adult choir will present the cantata “Breath of Heaven” by Craig Adams.
The church is located at 114 Valley Forge Christian Church Road.

Immanuel Baptist
A Christmas Eve communion service will be held Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, 205 Hunter Ave.

Lynn Valley
The Celebration Choir of Lynn Valley Baptist Church will present “Glory In The Highest” Sunday at 6 p.m. The cantata by Larry Parks is directed by Larry Adams.
Prior to the cantata, the Junior Praise Choir and Wee Praise Choir will perform selected Christmas songs.
Tuesday, Dec. 24, a special Christmas Eve service will be held at 5 p.m.

A Christmas Eve service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 5:30 p.m. at Oak Street Baptist Church.

New Liberty
New Liberty will continue its month-long celebration of Christmas with special Christmas music by the church choir during the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday followed by a Christmas message by the pastor, the Rev. Ray Colbaugh.
During the 6 p.m. worship service the Teen Class will present a Christmas play entitled “The Meaning of Christmas” directed by Mandy Greer. Special music will be provided by the Solid Rock Trio.
The public is invited to attend these special services.
New Liberty Free Will is located at 113 Peters Hollow Road near the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Department.

 
Carter Christian
Carter Christian Church, located at 1765 Highway 91 in the Stoney Creek community, will have a candlelight service Tuesday, Dec. 24, at 7 p.m. with a Christmas devotion, music and communion.

First Christian
The Adult Choir of First Christian Church of Elizabethton will present the cantata “Bethlehem’s Child” Sunday, Dec. 22, at the 9:45 a.m. worship service.
The cantata will feature solos by Janie Broyles, Dr. Davis Mills and Gene Estep. The narrator is Rachel Dunlap, and choir director is Gene Estep.
Following the cantata, Sunday School classes will meet.
The evening service will be held at 6 p.m. Youth classes will also meet at that time.
There will be no Ladies Bible Study Monday nor any Wednesday Bible Study classes.
The church office will be closed next week for the Christmas holiday.

“Congratulations! You Get It!” will be the theme of the message at the Sunday morning service at First Presbyterian Church of Elizabethton when the fourth Sunday of Advent and the winter solstice is celebrated.
Morning worship will begin at 11 a.m. and Sunday School and Adult Forum will be at 9:45 a.m.
A Christmas Eve Candlelight Service will be held Dec. 24 at 10 p.m.
This special service will include music, readings and reflections from members of the congregation.
The Advent candles will be lighted. Also, a special offering will be received to The Shepherd’s Inn, Assistance and Resource Ministry, among others.

First United Methodist
The sermon “God Is With Us” will be featured Sunday, Dec. 22, at the morning worship service at First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton. The scripture text is Matt. 1: 128-25.
The service will begin at 10 a.m., followed by a brief fellowship period.
Sunday School for all ages will begin at 11:20 a.m.
The Men’s Prayer Group will meet at 9 a.m. in Room 108.
There will be a come-as-you-are Christmas Eve Candlelight Communion open to the community between 5 and 7 p.m. Tuesday in the church sanctuary.
There will be no Wednesday night service next week.
Also, the Coolagers, G2s and UMY will not meet during the holidays.

“God Will Give A Sign” will be the sermon theme for morning worship Sunday, Dec. 22, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 201 E. Watauga Ave., Johnson City. The sermon text is Isa. 7: 10-17.
Morning worship will be held at 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
Sunday School and Bible Study will be held at 9:15 a.m.
A Christmas Eve service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 7 p.m. The sermon theme is Isa. 11: 1-10 based on scripture from Luke 2: 15-20.
A service will also be held Christmas Day at 10:45 a.m. Featured will be the sermon “A Brushstroke of Light” based on John 1: 6-14.
Interpreted services for the deaf are available on the second and fourth Sundays at the 10:45 a.m. service.
