CCA squads refuse to fold

A pair of Carter County American Little League teams survived to play another day on Monday by collecting wins in their elimination games. The 11-12 softball girls avenged Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Daniel Boone with a 7-1 victory. The boys rolled over Jonesborough 6-2.

CCALL scored two runs in each of the first three innings that led to their six-run decision at Billy Bob Garrison Field.
Katelyn Loudy tossed a complete-game, four-hitter with five strikeouts to earn the win.

The 11-12 boys bounced back after Saturday’s tough loss to keep their district title hopes alive.
Blake King blasted two mammoth homers and drove in three runs to lead the way. Davy Ensor provided three hits and scored a pair of runs. Ryan Manuel, Dillion Johnson and Kade Hensley each contributed a base hit.
