Carter County offers one parade by land, one by sea

10:27 am | July 3, 2013

The annual Elizabethton Fourth of July parade will be “big, big, big.”

And there are big events planned on Watauga Lake as well.

The parade will be held in downtown Elizabethton Thursday at 1 p.m. Pre-parade activities will begin at 10 a.m.

“It is going to be great,” said parade planning committee chairman Bob Cable. “It will be a fantastic parade. There is more entertainment in the parade than I have ever seen anywhere else.”

On the water, the annual Fourth of July Boat Parade will be held on Watauga Lake for the 13th year.

The boat parade will begin at 2 p.m. and will start at Watauga Dam, travel to Shook Branch by the Captain’s Table, then to Watauga Point and end near the Butler Bridge.
