Car slams into City Market

A woman says she was thankful no one was hurt Monday when her vehicle struck the City Market in Elizabethton.

A vehicle struck the exterior of the City Market on E Street in Elizabethton Monday, causing some damage to the building and its contents. Judy Lane Heaton of Elizabethton was driving a white Ford Flex at 12:05 p.m., when the vehicle hit the exterior of the City Market, located at 449 E. E St., Elizabethton. The collision caused some damage to the building’s side, destroying a section of vinyl siding.

Inside, kitchen utensils and other items were thrown from shelves and scattered across the floor.
