Burleson, Jr. Cyclones set to get things started

1:43 am | August 13, 2013

Johnny Burleson has worn many hats during his tenure at Elizabethton High School. You can now add another cap to that list.

Burleson is the new head football coach at T.A. Dugger, taking over for Travis Smithdeal, who will now serve as an assistant.
Burleson served in the same role prior to taking over the head coaching reins.

He and his Jr. Cyclones will open the season today at home against John Sevier from Kingsport. It’s one of many tough contests for ’Betsy, which will once again play in the Big Eight with the likes of Science Hill and others.
