Bulldogs take measure of HV

The flea bites of failure are quickly on the wane for coach Mike Lunsford’s Hampton Bulldogs.

“I can’t say enough about our kids,” Lunsford said after his young football team defeated longtime rival Happy Valley 33-20 atop Warrior Hill on Friday night. “We lost two of our best players, but that was the hardest we’ve played all year. Tristan Robinson was a man, Tommy Frazier was a man and Juan Pearson was a man.

“I’ve seen (the Warriors’) line and they’re good, but their coach told me that we whipped them up front. The kids played really hard up there and I can’t be more proud of a group of kids.”
