Bulldogs aim to rebound vs. Oneida

Hampton will be looking for a “superball” performance when it visits Oneida on Friday night.

The Bulldogs are hoping to bounce back from their 42-41 loss to Unicoi County, and they’ll have to do so minus some key players.

Coach Mike Lunsford was already dipping down into the sophomore and freshman pool last week, and he’ll probably have to reach a little deeper in the well against the Indians.”

“We’ve got a lot of kids hurt right now,” said Lunsford. “We’re going to be replacing young kids with even younger kids. Friday was a great football game to watch and a tough one to coach. The kids just came in Monday and went back to work. They knew it was going to be a tough game going in and unfortunately it didn’t go the way we wanted it to. We did a lot of good things and we’re going to have to build on those. We’re just got to accept what happened and move forward.”
