Buffaloes upend Point University

MILLIGAN—Milligan made its “point” against Point University that it is still in the hunt for the Appalachian Athletic Conference championship.
The Buffaloes grounded the Skyhawks 86-72 inside of Steve Lacy Fieldhouse before a large crowd Saturday afternoon.
The Buffs (6-2, 13-7) got off to a slow start in the early going, but picked up the pace around the five-minute mark.
A monstrous block by Chris Ellis on a shot inside the paint brought the Milligan crowd to life. It also ignited a red-hot shooting Mickey Woods, whose five consecutive points, including a three, broke a 10-10 deadlock and put the Buffs up 15-10.
