JOHNSON CITY — The effort was there. The ideal result was not.
East Tennessee State withered down a double-digit deficit on three different occasions, but ultimately fell short in a 72-70 loss to Stetson in Atlantic Sun play Thursday at MSHA Athletc Center.
“You can’t lose at home,” said ETSU coach Murry Bartow. “It was a weird game for us because we’ve been defending really well. It was our best offensive game of the year against a D-1 opponent. It was a very unusual game the way it played out.”
The Bucs delivered one of their more complete offensive performances of the season, shooting 51.7 percent from the floor — a best against a Division 1-A opponent this year.
