Announcement is made today of the engagement and forthcoming marriage of Sydnie KeriAnn Buchanan and Mark Preston Forbes.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Kerry and Karen Buchanan, 255 Heaton Ridge Road, Roan Mountain. She is the granddaughter of Dana Dean and JoNell Young, Sunset Drive, Roan Mountain, and Charles and Brenda Buchanan of Plumtree, N.C.
Sydnie is a 2009 graduate of Cloudland High School and is currently a student at East Tennessee State University, majoring in Exercise Science. She is currently employed at All About a Party – Catering of Elizabethton, and Southern Appalachian Motor Sports of Roan Mountain.
Her fiancé is the son of Mark and Shannon Forbes, Odom’s Chapel Road, Buladean, N.C. He is the grandson of Wayne and Wanda Stocton, Cove Creek Road, Roan Mountain, and the late Charles and Vista Garland.
Mark is a 2009 graduate of Cloudland High School and is a diesel mechanic student at Tennessee Tech. He is currently employed at Forbes Development.
The couple will be married at Triple J (Jameson) Farm in Roan Mountain on Saturday, August 11, 2012, at 7:30 p.m.
