Breakfast fundraiser will benefit Butler animal shelter

The Butler Ruritan will host a breakfast fundraiser and pet health workshop to benefit the Johnson County Humane Society Pet Adoption Center.

Pancakes for Paws will be held Saturday, April 6 from 8-9:15 a.m. After the breakfast, the Airport Pet Emergency Clinic will host a workshop for the breakfast attendees on emergency pet care. The workshop will cover emergency care for cats and dogs that pet owner can perform at home in the event they cannot make it to the veterinarian.

Tickets for the breakfast and workshop are $7 and all proceeds go to the PAC.

“The PAC is basically a no kill-shelter,” said Merry Murdoch, with the Butler Ruritan. “They have a spay and neuter program. It is not really a humane society. It is a pet adoption center. Because it is a no-kill center, they are limited on what pets they can take due to adoptability and space.”
