BRISTOL — He’s known for his fights with George Foreman, Mike Tyson and Riddick Bowe. He’s known as the only four-time World Heavyweight Champion in boxing.
Wednesday night, the ‘Real Deal’ Evander Holyfield was known as a Camping World Truck Series sponsor.
When team owner K.D. Moore asked Holyfield to be a part of the Bristol-based DDK Motorsports team’s series debut at Bristol Motor Speedway, the longtime champ had no hesitations lending his hand and placing one of his charitable projects, Global Village Champions Foundation, on the hood of Blountville-native Nate Montieth’s Toyota.
“It’s all about helping people,” Holyfield said prior to the UNOH 200 truck race at BMS. “I’m the type of guy that I wouldn’t be who I am if nobody helped me. You look on the hood of the thing, we’re doing this thing to help some unfortunate people. That’s pretty much what I come out to do. To help support and encourage it.”
