Beloved bridge a picture-perfect present

Former Elizabethton resident Darriel Christoffel received a special surprise last week when she was given an early Christmas present, a print of the Covered Bridge.

Christoffel was given the print after her son, Lewis Christoffel, contacted the Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce looking for a picture of the Covered Bridge as a present for his mother. After hearing her story, staff of the Chamber of Commerce and Carter County Tomorrow and the Workforce Development Complex gave Christoffel a print that had been donated by Donna and Eddie Honeycutt.
