Barker emerges best in state trap shooting

The name Pat Benatar might not ring a bell to 17-year-old Brad Barker, but he sure knows how to deliver on one of her greatest hits. The Elizabethton High School senior was hitting targets with his best shot, earning him a state championship in trap shooting during the Tennessee Scholastic Clay Shooting Event held in Nashville.

Barker is a three-time state champion in skeet shooting and was runner-up in recent years at the Nationals.

Last year his team “Jefferson County” won the National Trap shooting championship.
