Autumnfest will return fall festival to city scene

The Elizabethton/Carter County Chamber of Commerce will host a new fall festival – Autumnfest – this October.

Events and Marketing Coordinator Stephanie McKinney said the chamber is still in the beginning planning stages for the festival, which will be Oct. 25 and 26.

“The community is familiar with the Octobefest the Chamber hosted in the past,” McKinney said. “We will be bringing the fall festival back and have renamed it Autumnfest.”

The Chamber hosted the one-day Octoberfest from 2008-2011 until it was eliminated to reduce costs.

McKinney said the festival would be similar to past festivals but some changes would be made to make Autumnfest unique.

The festival will feature arts and crafts vendors and entertainment along with smaller events occurring within the festival.
She said requests from vendors and the community led to the decision to bring the fall festival back.
