Annual book sale shelved10:00 am | September 24, 2013
The Friends of the Library organization has shelved its annual book sale until further notice, and members are looking for a new location after the loss of the event’s previous home.
Book Sale organizer Lilo Duncan said the group can no longer host the event at the American Legion building because that organization now hosts indoor yard sales each weekend.
“We were just notified this morning,” Duncan said Monday. “It is a total loss this year. It was such short notice.”
She said that short notice left Friends of the Library no time to arrange a new location for the fall book sale.
The sale had been scheduled for this Thursday through Sunday.
Duncan said the group is moving the books and tables stored at the American Legion to a rented storage unit. She said members are also checking options to see if a new location can be found.
