Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hughes celebrate 60th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Robert “Bud” Hughes, 1221 Bluefield Avenue, Elizabethton, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Thursday, April 19, 2012.

They were married April 19, 1952, by Pastor Tom Harkleroad at the home of Robert’s parents on Cedar Grove Road.

Mrs. Hughes is the former Marie Canter.

The couple are the parents of a daughter and son-in-law, Ralph and Pat Patterson.

They have two granddaughters, Trish Mullins and husband Cody and Princess Blevins and husband Jack. They have six great-grandchildren.

The couple celebrated the special occasion with a family dinner.
