Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Brookshire celebrating 63rd anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Brookshire, 1021 Pearl Street, Elizabethton, are celebrating their 63rd wedding anniversary today, Sunday, January 8, 2012.

Mrs. Brookshire is the former Frances Frye.

They were married January 8, 1949, in Elizabethton by Pastor M.H. Carder.

The couple are the parents of Dottie Brookshire of Johnson City; Sharon Sheppard and husband Bill of Elizabethton; Rebecca Brookshire of Elizabethton; and John Brookshire and wife Kathy of Mountain City.

They have two grandchildren, Zac and Amanda Sheppard.

They celebrated the special occasion by going out to eat on Saturday, January 7, with family and friends.
