Mr. and Mrs. George Smith celebrate golden anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, Gap Creek Road, Hampton, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, January 20, 2012.

They were married on January 20, 1962, in Mitchell County, N.C., by R.B. Turner.

Mrs. Smith is the former Pauline Honeycutt.

The couple are the parents of two daughters, Alesia Ramsey and Shona Fritts, both of Hampton.

They have two grandchildren, Shelbie Morgan and Seth Ramsey.

The Smiths are celebrating their golden anniversary with an open reception today, Sunday, January 22, from 2 until 4 p.m. at the Rittertown Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Hampton.
