Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Shirley celebrate 60th anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Shirley, Washington Avenue, Elizabethton, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Monday, Oct. 22, 2012.

 

They were married Oct. 22, 1952, by the Rev. George Westmoreland at the home of Albert and Grace Hicks, Elizabethton.

Mrs. Shirley is the former Betty Hicks.

The couple are the parents of Debbie McGhee, Johnson City, Eddie Shirley II and wife Jane, Knoxville, Keith Shirley and wife Barbara, Kingsport, and Diane Whaley and husband Mike, Gray.

They have six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The couple will be honored with a reception Sunday, Oct. 28, from 2 until 4 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Elizabethton. No gifts please.
