The Erwin Kiwanis Club will present its second program in the “Campfire at Rock Creek” summer series on Friday, June 21.
Appearing in concert will be the Adam Larkey Band. The band’s namesake heads up the group on fiddle alongside his father and guitar player, Eric Larkey, and his sister, Sarah Grace, on vocals. The Unicoi-based family is backed by an all-star cast of local bluegrass musicians.
The Friday campfire programs throughout the summer are absolutely free, including the free marshmallow roast following the entertainment. There’s nothing to buy, and no hat will be passed at the conclusion of the show.
The show will start at 8 p.m. in the amphitheater at Rock Creek Recreation Area. In event of rain, programs will be moved down the road to Rock Creek Presbyterian Church.
To get there, exit Interstate 26 in Erwin at Exit 36. Turn left and proceed to the first red light. Turn right on North Main Street, then turn left on Highway 395. Proceed less than two miles to Rock Creek Recreation Area, then follow the signs to the amphitheatre.
Coming up on June 28, the weekly program will feature “Youth for Christ” with musical entertainment by Amber Dunnavant and the group At His Feet from Southside Baptist Church in Johnson City.
Youth groups are encouraged to attend this fun evening of youth fellowship.
The campfire series continues each week through Aug. 9.
