Abingdon shoots past Jr. Cyclones

Wednesday night at the East Tennessee Sports Complex saw plenty of middle school hoop action in the Elizabethton Star Winter Classic with Abingdon opening the action by taking a slim 42-39 win over T.A. Dugger in boys varsity.
In other action Hampton’s JV girls team took third place in a close 25-23 win over Johnson County, while Chuckey-Doak knocked off the Cloudland girls junior varsity by a tally of 50-35 to take first place.

The Junior Cyclones free throw shooting was its Achillies heel as they connected on just five-of-16 from the line in a tight loss. Michael Robinson led the Cyclones with 14 points tying a game high with Eagles guard Cade Fugate.
