A Carter County couple will spend the holidays in a new home, thanks to federal funding administered through a state housing program.

Richard and Anna Lacey received the keys to their new home on Rosewood Circle last week and are currently moving their items into the residence. They hope to move in soon.

Richard had been working for the First Tennessee Human Resource Agency and then the First Tennessee Development District, and learned about the HOME program, which helps low-income residents to repair or rebuild their homes.

Anna said their home on Rosewood Circle had gutters falling off and other repairs were needed. Anna is disabled, she said, and Richard had only been able to work about 20 hours a week.
