It was a night – and day – filled with cheer
The annual Christmas parade Saturday night filled downtown Elizabethton with thousands of spectators celebrating the holiday, and merchants were also warmed by a big turnout for the day’s Open House.
The parade, with a “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree” theme, featured 84 entries and lasted close to an hour and 20 minutes. Participants included school marching bands, churches, day cares, non-profit agencies, school and youth league sports teams and local businesses.
“The parade went wonderfully,” Chamber of Commerce Director Tonya Stevens said. “We have received numerous comments about how nice the parade was. It was a very enjoyable parade, and we are excited about how it turned out.”
