First United Methodist
“Faith Is Not Traveling An Uncharted Course” will be the theme of the Sunday sermon at morning worship Aug. 11 at the First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton. The sermon text is Hebrews 11: 1-3, 8-16.
Morning worship is at 10 a.m. followed by a brief time of fellowship. Sunday School will begin at 11:20 a.m.
The Men’s Prayer Group will meet Sunday at 9 a.m. in Room 108. The Sunday evening Bible study will be held at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
UMY will meet Sunday from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the youth house.
The Abiding Love Bible Study group will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the fellowship classroom.
The G2s will meet Tuesday from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. in the youth house and the Coolagers will meet Wednesday from 3:15 to 4:45 p.m.
The Wednesday evening service will be held at 7 p.m. in the church sanctuary.

Minister Brent Nidiffer will continue his sermon series “The Lost Parables” at the 9:45 a.m. worship service Sunday, August 11, at First Christian Church of Elizabethton. Kay Mathis will present special music.
It is Promotion Sunday and all children promoting to another class will be recognized at the end of the morning service.
At 11 a.m., the church board will meet in the conference room while Sunday School classes will be held in the individual classrooms.
The Children’s Committee will meet at noon in the Wednesday Night Bible Study classroom.
The Youth and Youth Committee will meet at 4:30 p.m. in the Youth Loft for a planning session.
The evening service will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.
The Ladies Bible Study will meet at 10 a.m. Monday in the Fidelis Classroom.

The monthly Brotherhood Breakfast at the Unaka Baptist Church, Highway 91, will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. A $6 donation is requested.
During the breakfast there will be a churchwide fundraiser to raise money for John and April Kandal, missionaries to Haiti.
Among the items for sale will be clothing, housewares, sporting goods, books, and baked sales.

Family Fun Day will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, at East Side Baptist Church, 1509 Siam Road, from 4 to 8 p.m.
There will be free food, fellowship, water games and inflatables.
Children attending are asked to bring a towel.
New Liberty FWB
The Lost Creek Band, a bluegrass gospel group from New Market, will sing during the Sunday evening worship service, Aug. 11, at New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church.
