Rock Creek Ramblers up next in Campfire series

10:02 am | July 1, 2013

The Rock Creek Ramblers will be pickin’ and grinnin’ on Friday, July 5, at 8 p.m. at the Rock Creek Recreation Area Kiwanis Campfire Program.

The Rock Creek Ramblers consists of six talented musicians. Five of them are descendents of W. Hensley, and  the sixth is “a real good friend.” The Ramblers have a family reunion each year at the time of the band’s Campfire program performance. Family and friends pour into the nearby campground with tents and RVs from all over the country.

Organizers say that the family will have a good time at the reunion, and give you a great time during their program.

This is the 20th year of the Campfire Program, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Erwin with the support of the Cherokee National Forest Service. The programs are absolutely free, including a marshmallow roast after the show. The program will last one hour.

In the event of rain, the program will be moved to the nearby Rock Creek Presbyterian Church, which attendees will pass on Route 395 on their way to Rock Creek Recreation Area.
