Firefighters on the scene said the flames, reported at around 5 p.m. Tuesday, were licking the eaves of the house at 102 Johnny Jack Private Drive when they first arrived on scene.

After Stoney Creek volunteer firefighters ensured no occupants were inside the burning structure, they attacked the fire in earnest, getting it under control in about 30 minutes and extinguishing it shortly thereafter.

The Watauga and Hampton volunteer fire departments responded to assist Stoney Creek in fighting the fire.
